Haven't you had your period this month? Do you feel like you might be pregnant? Know the 4 symptoms of a first pregnancy: abnormal fatigue, heaviness in the stomach, nausea...

Most frequent pregnancy symptoms

The symptoms that you will see below are those that occur most frequently at the beginning of a first-time pregnancy. However, each woman and each pregnancy is a world. So you may notice all, some, or even none of them, and that doesn't have to be an indication that there is a problem with the pregnancy.

1. Menstrual delay

An example of a very typical symptom. It's probably the first thing you'll notice. If your menstruation is very regular, it is a very clear symptom to start suspecting. If it is more or less common for it to be late, it may take a few more days to realize it.

2. Small blood loss

It is another of the first symptoms that could indicate that you are pregnant. One to two weeks after conceiving, you may experience small pinkish or brownish spots known as implantation bleeding. These losses are due to the implantation of the fertilized egg in the uterus.

It is something normal that in principle should not worry you, unless it lasts more than 2-3 days or the bleeding is abundant and/or deep red. In these cases or if you have doubts, consult your doctor.

3. Tenderness and swelling of the breasts

It is another of the typical symptoms of menstruation, so it is possible that at first you do not pay much attention to it. However, your hormones are revolutionized and soon you will not be able to ignore that your breasts are sensitive and somewhat sore.

They especially bother when sleeping and exercising, so you should look for a special bra for these months. Normally, the most comfortable are those that hold well without compressing the chest too much.

As the months go by, other related symptoms may appear, such as:

  • Darkening and increase in the size of the areolas, which will make it easier for the baby to find them after delivery to start suckling.
  • Appearance of small bumps.
  • Breast growth.

4. Nausea and heaviness in the stomach

Morning sickness is a classic pregnancy symptom. The changes in the body during this physiological moment (hormones, stretching of the uterus and relaxation of the muscles of the digestive tract) cause the stomach to suffer and cause discomfort ranging from a little dizziness to vomiting. Up to 80% of pregnant women suffer from the famous nausea.

They usually disappear with the first trimester, but in the meantime, you should drink plenty of fluids, not spend many hours without eating anything and avoid large meals at once: much better take small doses several times a day.

In this Copaping article we have discussed the classic symptoms that a new mother feels. But do not forget that the symptoms of a first pregnancy can be various and you should not suffer from all of them. Contact your doctor whenever you have questions and follow up on your condition with him.
